Well hello, I’m
Kayla G. ✨
—the heart behind Olivine Salon—and a beauty and wellness professional with 20 years of hands-on experience in the industry.
I created Olivine in March 2016 because I wanted something different from the hustle of traditional salon culture. I wanted to create a space that felt more intentional—where care, connection, and quality come first, where there’s time to actually exhale, and where you never feel like you’re being rushed through just another appointment.
My philosophy is pretty simple: your time with me should feel like a breath of fresh air. Personal, restorative, unrushed, and completely focused on you.
I believe your appointment should feel like a little escape from the rest of the world. A place where you can settle in, be cared for, and maybe even forget what time it is for a while. Beauty and wellness go hand in hand, but I believe both should remain practical, approachable, comfortable, and genuinely useful. That’s why I take a holistic approach to my services and pay attention to the little details that can make a big difference.
A Little About My Practice
I’m licensed in both Cosmetology and Nail Technology, and while I’ve also trained in permanent makeup, my heart—and my practice—are currently focused on holistic foot care and wellness-centered services.
One of my greatest passions is Advanced Wellness Pedicures. I love combining meticulous, advanced techniques with professional-grade tools, thoughtfully selected products, and a little pampering to create an experience that goes far beyond a traditional pedicure.
Whether we’re addressing dry or cracked skin, calluses, thickened nails, or simply giving your feet some much-deserved attention, my goal is always the same: for you to leave feeling comfortable, cared for, confident, and heard.
I’m naturally curious, love a good challenge, and genuinely enjoy figuring out how to make something better. I invest in advanced continuing education in areas like clinical foot care, infection prevention, and healthy, non-toxic nail care because your safety matters to me.
I use professional-grade, hypoallergenic products and maintain strict sanitation standards because elevated care should never come at the expense of safety.
And I don't offer express treatments. Not because I don’t value your time, but because I value what happens during that time. My work isn’t about quick fixes or squeezing as much as possible into a schedule. It’s about thoughtful work, real results, comfort, and care.
Why Olivine Feels Different
Olivine is intentionally personal. It’s my little corner of the world, and when you’re here, you have my full attention.
As a one-woman studio, I’m able to take my time with each client and truly personalize your experience. I don’t believe in rushing through appointments or treating anyone like “just another service.” I want you to feel heard, respected, and completely comfortable from the moment you walk through the door.
I’m also a big believer in listening—really listening—to what you want, what you need, and how you want to feel when you leave.
And just as importantly, Olivine is a judgment-free, inclusive space. Every body, every story, and every set of feet is welcome here.
Swapping stories with my clients is one of my favorite parts of what I do. Travel stories, family stories, ridiculous stories, life stories—you name it. That genuine connection is one of the reasons I’ve loved doing this for as long as I have.
And while I take what I do seriously, I don’t take myself too seriously.
When I’m Not at Olivine
Outside of the salon, I’m a wife, mom, animal lover, gardener, reader, adventurer, and lifelong explorer.
After 12 years together, my husband and I eloped in May 2022 on a dreamy Miami adventure, and I still think about the Cuban coffee from that trip. These days, my go-to is a peppermint white mocha—hot or iced, year-round. ☕️
We’re a busy family of four kids, plenty of stories, and a small flock of chickens that keep things interesting—including one of our own currently exploring life in Germany with the Air Force.
We’ve also been lucky enough to share our home with some pretty wonderful rescued loves over the years. Daisy (aka Beebs) and Mr. Chubbs, our floppy-eared house bunnies, and our sweet Border Collie, Dakota, a.k.a. “the most handsomest boy,” may no longer be with us, but they’ve left their little paw prints on my heart and are forever woven into our family stories. They still make their way into conversation around here more often than you might expect. I’m pretty sure the best animals never really leave us; they just become part of who we are. ❤️
When I’m not in the salon, you can usually find me:
Boating or camping around the PNW
Gardening barefoot with my kids
Getting lost in a good book (with a very large stack waiting)
Losing track of time over a puzzle or family game night
Traveling and exploring somewhere new
Taking care of our chickens
Or swapping travel stories with clients—which might just be my ultimate love language
I’m happiest when I’m learning something new, exploring somewhere beautiful, or laughing until my cheeks hurt.
Come As You Are
Whether this is your first visit or you’ve been with me for years, thank you for trusting me with your time and your care. It genuinely means more than you know.
So come as you are.
Bring your tired feet, your busy schedule, your need for a little quiet—or your best stories.
There’s room for all of it here.
Let’s slow down, take care of you, and make your wellness a priority—and your time at Olivine the best part of your day. 💚
